Delina, the Art of Modern Rose

SILK EDIT

Delina, Delina, Delina…
this was my first niche perfume — the one that opened its rosy door to a new world.

It’s funny, but my first encounter was nothing more than a passing glance as I rushed past the Parfums de Marly counter. I didn’t even have time to try a sample. Yet the beautiful bottles stole my attention. That brief moment changed everything.

At home, I caught myself wondering what it smelled like. A couple of days later, I decided to pay a visit to the house of Marly. Even before I tried Delina, I knew it would be something unforgettable.

Just holding the fragrance bottle was an experience like no other. Blush-pink, velvety, and elegantly curved, it looked as though it belonged on a vanity in the French court.

Delina is a luxurious, romantic, and highly nuanced floral scent. Imagine a fresh bouquet of roses and plush peonies, blended with tangy notes of lychee and rhubarb. After the first whiff of Delina, right then and there, it became my new signature scent.

Silk Notes: Delina – romantic without being coquettish

If Delina were a mood, it would be a romance without drama — just pure beauty.

On my skin, it opens bright and airy: a fresh, almost sparkling rose, lifted by something tart and playful. There’s a hint of fruitiness, like lychee and rhubarb, giving the florals a modern edge rather than sweetness. As it settles, the scent becomes softer and more powdery, wrapped in a gentle creaminess that lingers for hours.

It’s elegant and romantic, yet unmistakably contemporary — the kind of fragrance that doesn’t fade quietly, but stays present, almost like a memory. At its heart, Delina is a modern rose: bright, feminine, and surprisingly confident. It’s the kind of fragrance that invites compliments wherever you go.

I love pairing literature with perfumes. It evokes emotion and brings stories to life. Imagination runs wild, pages turn faster, and my mind becomes a stage.

My most recent pairing was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen — Delina and Jane Bennet.

Why does Delina feel like Jane, not Elizabeth? Delina isn’t Elizabeth’s wit or Lydia’s flirtation — it’s Jane’s calm radiance, the kind of femininity that feels sincere and emotionally warm. Not loud or performative; soft, effortless, and quietly magnetic. Delina reminds me of Jane Bennet — a beauty so natural it almost seems accidental, yet impossible to overlook.

“I was sure you could not be so beautiful for nothing!”
— Mrs. Bennet to Jane

It’s still one of my favorite perfumes. By now, it feels woven into me. It will always have a place in my collection — I can’t help but reach for it.

You’ve changed — tastes refined, shelves expanded — and yet Delina still belongs.
